A leader in expert fine art valuations and art collection management.

Lindland Art Services Inc. is a Calgary consultancy owned and operated by Pauline Lindland. I am an art advisor, collections management consultant and accredited personal property appraiser with a speciality in fine art. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alberta and a Professional Certificate in Arts Management from the Banff School of Fine Arts. I have also passed formal training in appraisal theory, principles, procedures, ethics and law to become an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), the professional leader in standardized appraisal methodolgy and report writing standards.

I have over thirty years experience working with Canadian art collections, large and small. I curated the Petro-Canada art collection and gallery program for sixteen years, after two years as registrar and technician. Since 2000 I have operated my own fine arts consultancy, advising clients on acquisitions and offering a broad range of creative, museological and valuation services to private collectors, corporations, the art gallery and museum communities, and the provincial and federal governments.

As an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), my art appraisals conform to the Report Writing Standard and Code of Ethics of the ISA and the Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, the appraisal industry's benchmark of ethical and professional standards. Conforming to these standards is obligatory for ISA members. The ISA sets a standard of quality in an unregulated industry.

Art appraisals are conducted for purposes of insurance coverage, damage and loss claims, charitable donations, cultural property donations, estate planning and division of assets, determination of capital gains or probate fees, divorce and business dissolutions and informed decision-making. I write valuations of assets on behalf of private and corporate art collectors, public art galleries and museums, art dealers, insurance companies, the moving industry, estate and trust officers, accountants, financial planners, bankruptcy trustees and provincial and federal government agencies and foundations. Please contact me for an appointment. I look forward to working with you!
