A leader in expert fine art valuations and art collection management.
I established this consultancy in 2000, after sixteen years as a corporate art curator, to provide independent advice and professional expertise to private, corporate, public and government clients.
I do not sell art and I am independent of any ties to artists, dealers, galleries and auction houses, thus ensuring that your interests will be my first consideration. My independence is your assurance of objectivity in my advice and counsel.
I am the only Accredited Fine Art appraiser in Alberta. I subscribe to uniform academic and ethical standards which is especially important, because appraising is an unregulated industry. Each appraisal conforms to the Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. This includes a statement of my financial interest in the property.
I am an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers. Membership in a professional association is important because it shows that I am involved with the profession, have peer recognition, have access to updated information, and am subject to a code of ethics and conduct.
I write appraisal reports for insurance coverage, damage and loss claims; charitable or cultural property donations; equitable distributions - estate planning and division of assets, determination of capital gains tax or probate fees, divorce and business dissolutions; informed decision-making; and, loan collateral.
With more than twenty-five years experience of working with Canadian art collections, I offer my clients a broad understanding of the Canadian art market as well as professional art management practices. My training includes a degree in the visual arts and a certificate in arts management. I was honoured with an Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 in recognition of my contribution to the arts.
I am dedicated to promoting the highest standards in the valuation, acquisition, management, display, care, and security of works of fine art. I hope to share my love and passion for the visual arts with you.
