Calgary's Accredited Fine Art Appraiser

Insurance Requirement Appraisals

Procurement of Insurance

It is important to know how much insurance to carry. If you purchase too much insurance you spend money when you don't need to, while not purchasing enough insurance places you at risk of not receiving full value for your property in the event of a loss.

My professional appraisals limit your risk because you can depend on their value conclusions to make critical financial decisions. I determine my value conclusions based on prescribed standards of identification, valuation, and report writing. My appraisal reports conform to, and are certified according to the Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.

Let me help you manage your risk by purchasing the right amount of insurance.

Loss Claims

My expert appraisals will help you manage risk in another way. In the event that you have a loss and need to file a claim, your insurance company will need proof of three things:

  1. proof that the property actually existed;

  2. proof of what the property was worth at the time of the loss; and,

  3. proof of the condition of the property at the time of the loss.

My appraisals are comprehensive and will give your insurance company everything they need in order for you to be able to file a loss claim. Don't be left vulnerable at a time when you'll need the security of knowing your documents will be in order.

Insurance and Moving Industry Professionals

I work with representatives from the insurance and moving industries to help them reduce their risk of an inappropriate payout. I can accurately describe the damage and the condition of artworks, make recommendations for repairs or conservation, and estimate costs. I can also estimate the loss-of-worth for fine art that has been damaged and subsequently repaired. My appraisals provide reliable value conclusions because they are based on prescribed standards of identification, valuation, and report writing. They conform to, and are certified according to the Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices. I am accredited with the International Society of Appraisers as a personal property appraiser with a specialty in fine art. My training and my experience ensure that my opinions are professional and unbiased, and my value conclusions are accurate and current.
